The Last Life Form

“Ultima formă de viață” performanță, Centrul cultural francez, Iași, România, 2001

Performanța a fost  prezentată în cadrul Festivalului  de artă contemporană Periferic 5  și am avut ocazia de a mă folosi de spațiul interior al clădirii  pentru a da sens acțiunii mele. Am avut pe cap un monolit de ipsos care îmi acoperea integral capul. Respiram foarte greu și  cu ajutorul unui tub am umflat un balon roșu care la un moment dat s-a spart. După acest moment am scos un steag al României și am început să mă rotesc  cu el până am amețit și am pierdut noțiunea spațiului. După ce mi-am revenit   am încercat și  am reușit să găsesc ieșirea din clădire. Acțiunea a durat în jur de 30 min.

The performance was presented at the Periferic 5 Contemporary Art Festival and I had the opportunity to use the interior of the building to make sense of my action. I had a plaster monolith on my head, which completely covered my head. I was breathing very heavily and with the help of a tube I was inflating a red balloon, which eventually burst. Then I took out a Romanian flag and started spinning around with it until I became dizzy and lost all sense of space. When I recovered, I tried to find my way out of the building and managed. The whole thing lasted about 30 minutes.
