UFO In My City

Proiectul nu este doar un joc artistic, ci o reflecție profundă asupra modului în care construim sensuri și povești în jurul nostru. În esență, văd acest proiect ca pe o critică și o celebrare a imaginației umane. Este un spațiu în care banalul devine spectaculos, iar ficțiunea devine o cale prin care reinterpretăm realitatea.

În mod tradițional, spațiul urban este un loc al pragmatismului – blocuri, străzi, câmpuri anonime, toate orientate spre funcționalitate. În acest context, „UFO IN MY CITY” face două lucruri esențiale:

Decontextualizează locul: În momentul în care „îngradim” un câmp și adăugăm elemente care sugerează o poveste – benzi de avertizare, cercetători – acel spațiu este smuls din anonimat. Devine un punct de interes, o scenă a imaginației.

Parodiază dorința de extraordinar: Cultura contemporană este marcată de nevoia noastră de a găsi „ceva mai mare” – fie că vorbim de extratereștri, teorii conspiraționiste sau alte „mistere” care aduc sens în viața noastră. Proiectul parodiază această nevoie, dar fără cinism. Este mai degrabă un omagiu adus capacității noastre de a visa.

Fotoinstalația este cum privim lumea. Este un proiect care ne invită să ieșim din rutina zilnică și să vedem locurile altfel. Este despre puterea poveștilor – fie ele reale sau inventate – de a da sens vieții. Într-o lume care tinde spre cinism și scepticism, acest proiect oferă un spațiu de joc, de visare, de explorare.

The project is not just an artistic game, but a deep reflection on how we construct meanings and stories around us. In essence, I see this project as a critique and celebration of the human imagination. It is a space where the banal becomes the spectacular and fiction becomes a way through which we reinterpret reality.

Key artistic reading:

Traditionally, urban space is a place of pragmatism – blocks, streets, anonymous fields, all oriented towards functionality. In this context, “UFO IN MY CITY” does two essential things:

Decontextualizes place: The moment we “grade” a field and add elements that suggest a story – warning strips, researchers – that space is ripped from anonymity. It becomes a point of interest, a scene of the imagination.

Parodying the desire for the extraordinary: Contemporary culture is marked by our need to find ‘something bigger’ – whether we’re talking about aliens, conspiracy theories or other ‘mysteries’ that bring meaning to our lives. The project parodies this need, but without cynicism. It is rather a homage to our capacity to dream.

The photoinstallation  is about how we see the world. It is a project that invites us to step out of our daily routine and see places differently. It is about the power of stories – whether real or invented – to give meaning to life. In a world that tends towards cynicism and skepticism, this project offers a space to play, to dream, to explore.
